Heroes all have different rarity, which is a factor that determines the strength of the heroes you own. You can increase the rarity of heroes by using heroes of the same rarity and an specific amount of GEM to upgrade the main heroes.

However, the upgrade process has a propability of failure. If you fail to upgrade the designated hero, the hero itself will remain unchanged while all resources spent will be consumed.

The failure rate increases with the rarity of the heroes, which means the rarer the heroes, the harder the upgrades.
